My Warm Up

I sing
And I play,
I do this everyday,
While I listen,
I chat and I plan.

I prepare,
Dare and dream
While awake
And in sleep
Of fair contracts
And children whose needs,

Are met
By a world,
Of kind hearts,
And fair words,
Of an earth with blue seas
And green lands.

So I nurse
And I sow,
The seeds that will grow
To change lives
In both small
And great ways.

I wait
For a day
When all people
can play,
In a world fair
For all in all lands.

This came to me one night as I was trying fall asleep. I am not a poet, but it wanted to be heard. I hope it gives you a little insight into me. In short, teacher for 15 years, local union activist, singer, geek and dreamer.
